Installing and Calibrating the Ring Roamer Touchscreen
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Clean the iPad Screen
- Clean the iPad screen using a microfiber cloth to ensure there are no debris particles present.
Step 5: Reattach the back cover
- Align the standoff with the screw holes.
- Install the screws, but only halfway at first.
- Once all screws are in, fully tighten them, ensuring they are hand-tightened without over-tightening.
Step 2: Orient the iPad correctly
- Ensure the camera is positioned at the top.
- Ensure the charging port is at the bottom.
Step 6: Calibrate the touchscreen (if necessary)
- Locate the spring-loaded pressure points designed to prevent screen damage.
- Use the provided Allen wrench to adjust the set screw pins:
- Turn counterclockwise to loosen.
- Slowly tighten clockwise until the spring lifts slightly.
- Repeat the process for all six pressure point spots.
- Note: There is an additional hidden pressure point in the middle, but it typically does not require adjustment.
Step 3: Install the iPad
- Place the iPad into the Ring Roamer, ensuring it is properly seated and lies flat against the glass surface.
Step 7: Test the touchscreen
- Touch each corner icon to ensure it responds correctly.
- If any area is unresponsive, locate the nearest pressure point screw pin and tighten it as needed.
Step 4: Prepare the back cover
- Locate the provided USB-C charging cable.
- Connect the charging cable to the iPad.
- Tuck the cable carefully to avoid pinching when closing the cover.
Important Notes
- When you received the Ring Roamer, the touchscreen was pre-calibrated. Only recalibrate if you experience issues such as dead spots.
- Avoid over-tightening screws, as this can damage components.
